The role at One Man Studio

One Man Studio has an amazing opportunity for a highly talented real-time VFX artist, As a candidate, you must be passionate about all aspects of VFX design and implementation, with the ability to create dazzling effects within technical restrictions and that aid in gameplay immersion.

For this particular project we are looking for a stylised and artistic portfolio to join the AAA project we are currently working on, we need VFX for our fantasy characters but also to bring life to our environments

The ideal candidate will have a history of demonstrating an exceptional eye for detail, creative flair, stylistic versatility and the ability to communicate and collaborate on artistic and technical aspects with other team disciplines.

This is a fully remote position.

Within This Role You Will
• Work under direction to create stunning VFX, optimised per platform, across multiple titles and art styles.
• Responsibility for all aspects of the VFX pipeline, from initial concept, right the way through to final in-game polish.
• Collaborate with designers, artists and coders to design and implement VFX which will not only enrich the game world, but also support gameplay requirements.
• Be up to date on current and emerging visual effect trends and technology so you can contribute to new techniques and workflows.
Requirements
• Experience in Unreal Engine is mandatory and well knowledge of Niagara, material creation and blueprints.
• Understanding of how to integrate the effect in to characters and environments with different techniques and workflows
• Demo reel required or portfolio
• Proficiency in English is a must since you will be part of a Team based in the US
• Experience in the industry will be ideal, although for this position we are open to all applicants, but we need very artsy and polished portfolios that stand out from the rest, not just the standard explosions, do you have that spark? Reach out to us and let’s talk

This is a fully remote position.

The role at One Man Studio
As an UI Artist you will be designing beautiful UI elements for our groundbreaking new upcoming title. You will work in conjunction with the Art team, design and Narrative to visualize all together in to groundbreaking concepts. Our ideal candidate is fluent in visual design, used to create unusual and creative iconography with a portfolio that demonstrates excellent fundamental artistic skills.
We’re looking for an artist that can capture a whimsical and fantasy feeling in their work, exercising a sensitivity that is often missing from modern fantasy epics.
What You’ll Do:
– Work with all the production teams to concept, prototype and produce UI for our games.
– Collaborate with the design team to define the functionality and feature requirements for UI.
– Work with our clients from concept to completion, ensuring that the vision is maintained across the whole project lifetime.
– Integrate and produce the functional user interface.
– Champion user experience through thoughtful design and iteration.
– Achieve milestone goals and flag production risks early.
– Produce well thought-out and professional documentation, to showcase your work.
– Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure smooth implementation, uphold the design vision and maintain quality throughout.
What you’ll bring:
Create AAA-quality UI art assets, adhering to the overall presentation ad art direction. This includes a working knowledge of typography, layout, and comporition, utilising 3D and animation.
– Motion skills (Adobe After Effects or other visual design tools for animation).
– Provide a portfolio showcasing core graphic design skills.
– Awareness of UI/UX design and TRC-compliant standards.
– A keen eye for composition clarity and usability.
– Current knowledge of UI prototyping utilising Adobe suit or similar to convey/interpret concepts and ideas.
– Strong technical skills and the ability to implement UI solutions in engine.
– Key knowledge and experience implementing UI in Unreal Engine.
– Awareness of user interface patterns and design standards, ability to design for various audiences.
– Self-motivated and driven, with solid time management.
– Demonstratable appreciation of UI conventions and challenges for console platforms.
– Experience working within a team delivering work on time and to a very high standard.
– Gaming industry experience or a genuine passion for games.
– Agile development practices working within the scrum framework.

Requisitos mínimos:

– Knowledge of “Testing and Optimizing” on Unreal:
—- Crash Reporting.
—- In-Game Analytics.
—- Automation System and all its modules/plugins.
—- Performance and profiling tools.
—- Replay system.

—- Object-oriented programming methodologies.
—- Component-oriented programming methodologies (Game engines).
—- Video game QA development methodologies.
– Basic knowledge of C/C++ programming.

– Experience working with GitLab or other version control systems.

Requisitos deseados:

– Experience with any of the Microsoft and XBOX SDKs.
– Experience/knowledge on NFTs/Blockchain.

– Residence in Madrid is preferred, although remote work options are available.
– Reside in Madrid.

– Design, implement and oversee test strategies and plans for video game projects in Unreal Engine.
– Collaborate with development teams to proactively identify and address quality issues.
– Develop and maintain detailed documentation of test cases, bug reports, and quality metrics.
– Actively participate in continuous improvement of the software development and quality process.
– Participate in the research and adoption of QA best practices for Unreal Engine projects.

Job Description

We’re looking for an experienced and highly skilled Technical Animator who has a passion for their profession and who’ll add life and motion to our AAA unannounced videogame

Work as a Technical Animator (Tools) supporting the Art team across the Animation, Cinematics, and Character disciplines
• Create and maintain efficient tools and workflows for asset and feature implementation, providing novel solutions to a wide variety of artistic, technical and support challenges, working closely with fellow Technical Artists.
• Cross-discipline collaboration with Art, Engineering & remote teams to deliver work to Art & Technical Direction quality expectations

Responsabilities

The main responsibilities will be:
• Create and maintain animation blueprints so animations look good, blend well and play nicely in game.
• Breakdown designs into a plan of action and communicate this to design, animation and engineering.
• Oversee the development of games systems which support animation and make sure they are working and implemented correctly.
• A focus on delivering a great game experience.
• Willingness to give and receive constructive feedback. Experience and skills that would best suit this position:
• A showreel illustrating your skills and passion.
• Scripting experience.
• Animation state machine experience.
• Unreal Engine and Maya experience is mandatory
• Passionate about gameplay experiences.
• Experience working with motion capture.
• The initiative to tackle challenges as part of a team.

Qualifications
• Experience creating and supporting Art tools and workflows in a AAA games environment or similar.
• Excellent understanding of animation, cinematics and/or character pipelines, and content creation principles.
• Proficient in Python scripting following best coding practises, other languages (e.g. C++) are useful.
• Working knowledge of Maya, including scripting api’s.
• Understanding of game asset/technical budgets and how these affect games performance.
• Working knowledge of asset/feature implementation in Unreal Engine
• Creation and maintenance of technical and user focused documentation
• Proficiency in English is a must since you will be part of a Team based in the US and in the UK
